Xbox is cheaper used and apparently Forza is better than GT. But I already have GT5 for ps3 (I use my brothers Ps3 but he gets mad when I use it). What would you do with your $70-$130?

bigger question- do you want to race online or no? My gut reaction is always xbox 360, but if you don’t have the extra cash for xbox live, you may
have
to go with ps3

If you already have a ps3, get the 360. Worse comes to comes you can use it as bait and nick the ps3.

I personally prefer Forza, but the PS3 usually plays nicer with a racing wheel if you’re going to buy one.

If you’re using a controller, I much prefer the 360 controller for racing. And because you can get Forza and NFS Shift 2.

Which one can you more easily find a copy of Blur for? Go for that one.

Forgot live costed money. I’d like to get gt6 and try online races but it’s not a huge factor. I just want a little racing simulator. Good point with online.

get forza 4 and join online. GT5 lost online support.

I have a wheel. But is Forza that much better than gt5 and 6? Will Forza release a new 360 title or is it all for the one now?

I’m actually moving out in August for college so it’s not that easy. I’ve always been a playstaion kid but I’m considering jumping ship.

I could get 6 and not have to pay for online.

IMO (& many others) Forza 4 is the benchmark for racing games let alone sims plus you have the Horizon games which are very enjoyable. Forza is most likely done on the 360 but those games aren’t exactly lacking content.

I have one. It’s older but works well.

I find Forza much better the Gran Turismo 5, 6. I own both consoles btw.
Forza Horizon 2 will probably be the las6 Xbox 360 racing game, and Gran Turismo 6 is def the last Ps3 racing game.
Gran Turismo 2 is the best GT, 5 and 6 leave something to be desired.
Forza has a ton of customization, including engine swaps, body kits, the paint and decal tools, etc.
Gran Turismo looks better, but if you dont care about graphics I say Forza.

So there you go!
If I remember correctly, the Xbox needs very specific racing wheels, while the PS3 works with pretty much any of them.

Xbox and Forza all the way. I have every iteration of Forza and have played quite a bit of GT as well. And while GT might have a very slight edge graphics wise, Forza has a much better feel gameplay wise and is much more authentic. And one of the big points Forza gets is sound. GT using generic sound clips for the engine/exhaust noises for all of the cars, whereas Turn 10 (the studio that made Forza) actually went out and recorded the real engine and exhaust sounds of each and every single car they put in the game. That gets major points in my book. If it were my money (and I guess it kinda is since I’ve already bought the stuff myself) I’d get the 360 and both Forza Motorsport 4 and Forza Horizon. Horizon is an open-world type of racing game and is quite a bit different from the Motorsport series, but it’s still tons of fun.

but they will probably drop support for it when the next one comes out. All about preference I guess. I like xbox controllers and forza better.

They both have their merits; honestly I couldn’t pick which is more ‘fun’. New title wise, I have no clue. The only racing simulators I know of on ps3 is Gran Turismo, but I know of Forza, Project Gotham, GRiD, and Need for Speed Shift 2 for 360, so 360 is a win for me.

This. While the studio is pretty much done with all content for the 360 at this point, the back catalog of games is worthwhile. Horizon (and somewhat horizon 2) and Forza 4 are reason alone to do 360.

GT 6 was designed for PS4 though, so the PS3 version you get is gonna be kind of dulled down. Same with if you bought Forza Horizon 2 for the 360.

I was in the same situation. I ended up getting a 360 for Forza when it was just released and loved it. From then ive been racing on PC, using my G27 for Assetto Corsa and iRacing. However I just bought an XBONE for Horizon 2 to cruise around with friends. Perhaps the PS4 would have been wiser as that will match up with my Logitech G27, but XBOX > PS for racing games IMO

As someone who started with the original Forza i can be a bit bias but GT has lost its appeal to me. I know GT was one of the first realistic racing games for a console and still is the bar for video game racing competitions but ever since Forza came out, its done a much better job at just about everything. I also believe Forza has a much bigger community and followers than GT now. And its grown exponentially since the Horizon games where people can just goof around in an open environment or if you want to race on dirt.
Fourza (Forza 4) is considered the pinnacle of the series and directed toward track racing is 360 only. Fivza (Forza 5 Xbone only) did take a step back, which was mainly due to to lack of content and a bad update of the multiplayer, the controls/feedback were still amazing and probably the best i have ever used.
